In our recent “Tiny Hands” class for ages 2 to 5, we had a wonderful group of kids. We read the beloved book “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie,” which captivated their imaginations. Following the story, we created a craft based on the mouse, allowing the children to express their creativity.
Art activities like this play a significant role in promoting mental health, even for young children. Engaging in creative tasks helps them develop fine motor skills, enhances their ability to focus, and boosts their confidence as they see their ideas come to life. Art also provides a therapeutic outlet for expressing emotions, reducing stress, and fostering a sense of accomplishment and joy. By integrating storytelling and art, we create a holistic experience that supports their cognitive and emotional development in a fun and engaging way.
